Point Person and Pantry Tabler Guides
Pre-Table Setup
- [ ] If a line is beginning to form, the team may wish to hand out or assign numbers
Line Management at Woodside Houses
Table Setup
- [ ] Assist the driver in unloading all FreshDirect bags, produce, and table from their car
- [ ] (Winter) If hand warmers are included in the bags, begin distributing them to the line at this point prior to setup as they can take over 15 minutes to warm up
- [ ] Set up folding table and drape with SWMA tablecloth. Set up "no photography" sign and other triangular cardboard signs as needed (pantry hours, social distancing, etc.)
- [ ] Arrange FreshDirect bags and produce by category for easy replenishment
- Produce will usually go on the side of the table in boxes or bags, either at beginning or end
- [ ] Lay out items on table by category (PPE, cans, dried goods, hot food, etc.)
- Each pantry location has a different method for this, but rule of thumb is to lay out enough for one neighbor or household to choose items from and replenish after each neighbor
- Hot food should be accompanied by menu and utensils if included in the bag
- If there is time, refer to inventory list in the binder to determine approximately how many of each item we can give away per neighbor
Distribution
- [ ] To ensure social distancing, one volunteer should handle line management and send neighbors to the table one person or household at a time
- [ ] Remaining volunteers can divide by category (produce, cans, dried goods, hot food, etc.) to hand items to neighbors by request
- [ ] Items should be replenished between each neighbor or household
Post-Pantry
- [ ] Clean up and dispose of any trash in a nearby receptacle
