Hopefully, we never have to use this, but if we hit our deadline and we don't have enough people
- For the Pantry E-stop to be implemented on Wednesday Night. Any one of the following must be true
- Zero Pantry Tablers/Point person
- If we have some people for one pantry, but not the other, we can cancel just that pantry
- Zero Loaders
- Less than 3 Sorters on Thursday
- If by Wednesday afternoon any of the above seems likely then a final push for volunteers should go out.
- Once the cancellation determined then we notify the following people of the change
- The people who have signed up (Broadcast through volunteer sign up and also via text)
- Slack Announce to Appropriate Channels
- Social Media Blast
- The Neighbors at the pantry will be notified on the day of in person
- Any tablers/point people that were signed up for that location will instead be reassigned to go to the pantry location at 1:30 pm (half an hour before the pantry was supposed to start) and spread the word that the pantry will not happen that day
- If there is no one signed up, try to reassign people signed up for other roles that day to instead go inform people
- If that doesn't work, put out a general call via the usual channels
- Text any existing phone numbers for neighbors we have to help spread the word.
- We would want a simply flyer that says pantry has been canceled for this week in multiple languages to be given out on the day by the volunteers.
- Later is better for posting so it doesn’t get lost over the days in between.
This is to be coordinated by the On-Call Virtual Point Person (VPP) Brainstorming
Additional Thoughts/Questions/Ideas.
- Actively sign up neighbors so they can be messaged about announcements like this
- Would have to collect people's info at the pantry, promising that we would only use the number for cancellation notification and nothing else/no spam.
- Could put all the numbers into Google Voice or Airtable
- Unfortunately, there's no way to mass text everyone without including everyone else's number, so we'll need to brainstorm/see what other technical solutions exist (we could use something like Twilio to automate, but might require some technical work)
- Continue brain storming flyering ideas like chalk, or a more permanent sign, or leaving some at the Dunkin etc. Since the pantry locations are tricky for traditional tape/staple jobs.
